Stirling Castle will host a treat for Jane Austen fans and theatre-lovers alike this Sunday (10 June) as it becomes the atmospheric backdrop for a dramatic adaptation of Sense and Sensibility.
Audiences can enjoy a magical night of theatre under the stars with Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s open-air production of Austen’s classic novel.
Adapted by award-winning writer Laura Turner, this exquisite and lively tale follows sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as they make their first forays into the exciting world of Regency society, as they fall in love, make mistakes and experience heartbreak for the first time in their quest to find a balance between sense and sensibility.
Laura Gray, Assistant Events and Filming Manager at Historic Environment Scotland (HES), who manage Stirling Castle, said:

Jake Reynolds of Chapterhouse Theatre Company said: “Chapterhouse Theatre Company is excited to bring the Jane Austen classic Sense and Sensibility to one of Scotland’s most beautiful and historically important buildings. Stirling Castle has played a role in Scottish history time and time again, and will provide a stunning backdrop for an evening of theatre beneath the stars.”
Sense and Sensibility takes place from 7.30pm - 9.45pm on Sunday 10th June. Doors open at 6.45pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets are available online and on the door.
